About KentlandFamily OwnedFounded in 1971 by developer Wilbur A. Lettinga with the mission of providing well-planned and well-managed communities, Kentland Communities became a major leader in the manufactured housing industry in the Grand Rapids area, eventually building 20 desirable communities around western Michigan.Wilbur passed on his love for building communities to his sons- Bill Jr., and Michael Lettinga. Bill Lettinga blettinga@kentland.com began his career with Kentland Communities after graduating from Davenport College. As President of Kentland Communities, Bill “moves dirt and motivates people” while handling development, expansion and human resource duties. In addition to his work with Kentland Communities, Bill serves as Executive Board Chairman for the Michigan Manufactured Housing, RV and Campground Association. His brother, Michael, served as Chief Financial Officer within the family-owned business until his untimely passing in 2011.
